border patrol

We have been listening to the "Modern Rock 540" on KTCL this weekend which included a disturbing number of Jack Johnson tunes but moving on... There have been a handful of punk church commercials (the only commercials which get a station disclaimer before they run) but we have also heard lots of ads recruiting for border patrol. Are Green Day & Franz Fernand fans really the target market? Of is the Gov't really bad at marketing?

I couldn't find a permalink to this cartoon from this week's Westword so you will probably have to double click to read the fine print. Worth the click or picking up the paper this week.

Also, Will has an excellent post over on his blog on the topic: Join the Border Patrol.

YIKES, DHP! If the commercials are for the National Guard... are they trying to get folks to sign up to serve on the border & then they are going to send their asses to Iraq! Something smells stinky!

Jeepboy (based on his Air America knowledge) suggest they will be going to Iran not Iraq. He claims that this news is so 3 weeks ago.
