Rocky Mountain High

Colorado has a new state song (well, co-state song) “Rocky Mountain High” by John Denver. Wikipedia has already taken note of the change. What did we ever do without that website?

This was DHP’s favorite song as a child. Well, this and the entire soundtrack of Grease. So, evidently I was to live in Colorado, or become a pink lady. Seems I chose right.

I didn't want this to be searchable so I didn't put it in the blog itself, but I have to admit that when this song was played on the floor of the house and senate I got goosebumps and a small tear to my eye. And, though I've been to about 50% of the places depicted in this video, I'm ready to plan the next road trip. I've got Argentina and the Pacific Northwest on my agenda, but I'd like to dedicate some of this summer to the western part of this state. Whose in?? And, yes that means sleeping in undeveloped campgrounds and playing it by ear.

I'm in. I'm all about the camping in undeveloped campgrounds and playing it by ear. Remind me to tell you about camping in Poudre Canyon last summer and 30 straight hours of rain.

And I will be happy to sing every word to at least the first three sides of the Grease Soundtrack around the campfire with some lovely red wine. I will confess I wasn't too keen on Side 2 of Record 2.

I just got my passport, so keep me informed...although my trip to Alaska in June is eating much of my vacation...

No comments on the ammendment to clarify what kind of "high" to which the song refers???? That had me laughing at the conservatives for hours!!!

Wait--this is even funnier--apparently the internet has taken over the out-dated Re-Elect Sen. Bob site:
www.senbob.com

to humorous effect.

I really am looking for some serious info, though. 'KidsBlitz'?
