Crime Victim

DHP did not have a good week last week. She was homeless (thank you InfoChef for giving me a roof over my head!), had a nasty cold complete with fever and cough, and penniless (because I left my credit & debit cards and checks in my house which I could not go in). As if all that was not bad enough, someone threw a rock through DHP’s back window on her car. It is now covered in plastic, in true trailer park fashion . . . duct tape and all.

The police report got filed online and DHP figured that would be the end of it. Then, on Friday, she got the call. See, Jetta was parked near the capitol during the latest pro-immigration rally and it seems some other cars got hit at the same time. The common denominator? The Salazar bumper sticker! Though they don’t have any suspects, the cops believe that some hooligans that were protesting the rally (shall we call them white supremacists?) damaged vehicles that had the Latino Senator’s sticker on them. Jetta was a victim of a hate crime. Her insurance still won’t cover it.

Here’s a great article on anti-immigrant tactics. Nutjobs add sinister side to debate.

Also, DHP now has beautiful wood floors in her apartment. Again, thank you InfoChef for letting me crash at your pad during my floor makeover ordeal.

OMG! THAT IS OUT-FUCKING-RAGEOUS! (If it was your bumper sticker, CD2E & JB should probably park with care) What the HELL is wrong with people?

used window? I get the impression you're not flush with cash and rear windows can get expensive. If you call around you may find an automotive glass shop that will install a used winow.

I see one of the fuckwits has visited us. The point was not about the window. The point was that fear and hate of brown people has taken its toll on my car. Jackass.

Mea Culpa. I found a cheap back window and it is ready to go for another act of vandalism on Monday.
