. . . early-voted in the Denver “Primary” today. Which I could do without changing my party affiliation due to the 1A issue. Here’s the thing, I could not vote in any of the partisan primary races, which is fine, because I do not live in a district that has a primary. HOWEVER, some of the crafters (and our fans) may live in HD 1 or SD 32 which do have primaries that will actually determine who gets the seat given that they are Democratic districts with no viable opponent in the general election.
So, if you are one of the registered unaffiliated voters in HD 1 and SD 32, know that you can go vote and change your party affiliation (to Democrat damn it!) at your polling location (Denver has switched to vote centers, so check that site) on the day you vote.
Voting recommendations (take these with a grain of salt): DHP spoke with a few enviros today before voting and changed her vote on 1A from a “NO” to a “YES”. Evidently the contract we are being asked to renew has some good provisions in it that require green buildings in Denver and require renewable energies to be used by the evil Xcel (on the dead to us list).
HD 1 – Alfredo Hernandez
SD 32 – Jennifer Mello (the lesser of all the ego-maniacs in the pool, plus some good endorsements)
On a totally different note, there is now a Farmer's Market in Civic Center Park on Wednesdays. Cool.

On SD 32, it is ABC in my book (Anybody But Coleman!) Why? from Colorado pols:
"In the three-way Democratic primary in SD-32, term-limited Rep. Fran Coleman had already seen three early pieces of mail sent on her behalf all of them paid for by the pharmaceutical industry. Coleman has had trouble raising money from traditional Democratic groups with Chris Romer and Jennifer Mello in the race, so she turned to help from the
pharmaceutical industry, for which she has been a fairly reliable vote during her term in the legislature."
