Setting your clock back

Warning: This post is boring.

For crafters with home computers (or the self-employed, IT Dept-Less), you may want to check out this link about the new Daylight Savings Time settings (coming March 11th). http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst

All of the high speed folks should be getting critical updates automatically so no action should be required but the link above will double-check.

I think this may land you in the massive MS Updates page, for what it is worth, CD2E & JB both independently do not suggest IE 7.0. (You can select to install updates with the "custom" option to avoid it.)

Thanky spanky! I'm officially neutered, er, fixed!

Um, how do I know what kind of operating system I have?

Right Click on My Computer, Select Properties, Look on the General Tab. (There is probably some Dell specific way to do this too but I don't speak Dell.)

It told me how to figure that out on the link that COD2E posted. Because I had no idea I had Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

Sounds like a bad sequel.

Shizer. None of the above worked for me. I guess I'm going to have to set everything by hand. Which means I'll be on a different time than the rest of the country of a few weeks. What's new?

It will basically be not an issue or a total cluster fuck. I am getting daily updates that make it sound like the next big Y2K. (And we all know how that turned out)

Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend hoarding cash and toliet paper but you may want to print out a paper copy of your calendar for next week before Saturday night.

Luckily it seems that my computer and handheld device already had the current updates installed, so my world did not come to an end. What will I do with all the propane I stored up?
