Toilet Talk

Has anyone gone to the bathroom at Mercury Cafe lately? They have installed these toilet tank sinks. We have run into Colorado grey water laws in our past water related eco ideas but JB thinks this one is kosher.

And since we are on the subject, last weekend we installed a DIY Doggie Dooley.

I don't think it's out on DVD yet for the cable-less, but for the cable'd check out Living With Ed for all the eco things we could do- if we lived in California and had Ed Begley Jr kinda bank.

That's weird. I'm not sure I want to wash my hands on the back of the commode.

They're advertising to quite a wide audience...people who live in the city and those running prisons...interesting...

"Popular for confined spaces such as small apts, prisons, etc."

But this one? I'm even more intrigued how they got to this one..."entices better health prompting washing of hands"

Hmmm...is this the wave of the future? It's an interesting concept, but I'll invest in hand sanitizer...

I think the prompting must be for boys who are facing that direction when they flush.

On the surface, seems icky.
But if you think about it, it starts to make sense: the water to flush with comes from the same supply as that of the sink--e.g., it's not water that's been in the toilet bowl--so why not use the water on its way to fulfill its flushing duties.

I'm not sure what you'd do about being close to the bowl, though. I'll have to check out the Merc. Or, design an open-room design where you could actually go around to the reverse of the toilet and wash from that direction!
