Hail!

Before I lived in Colorado, my knowledge of hail and flash flooding was limited to Laura Ingalls Wilder's retelling.

Now that I'm older and wiser, I've learned that not only are some passages in these books deemed racist, I also know that one can actually perish during flash flooding in an urban area and that the weather changes quite rapidly from glorious sun to hail of significance as it did on May 28 here in central Denver.

speaking of hail, it was quite a treat for my out of town guests to experience the hail storm during the set change at the samples/big head todd show at red rocks last saturday night.

in other weather news, we got a double rainbow sighting in the parking lot, watched lightning over aurora from the top of the amphitheatre, and the evening ending with the almost full moon emerging from the clouds over the stage during the encore.

you can't buy that sh*t on television.
