Fly the Flag Upside Down!!! More power to you!!!

There is NOT enough protest to this war. KUDOS to Ms. Hammer for flying her flag upside down as a sign that our country is in distress. Our damn legislators are lolligaging around waiting for...I have no idea...oh yea, an election. GET THOSE TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ. Where are men with balls and women with gussy who care less about their political future than they do about other peoples lives????

Here's the crazy thing about the woman in Wheat Ridge. "One of Hammer's neighbors said those who manipulate the flag this way dishonor U.S. troops overseas. 'I don't think they belong in this country. If they don't like the way we do things, they ought to move,' said Daniel Fantoni, a World War II Veteran."

That makes ZERO sense!!! "We" would imply a majority of Americans. However, a majority of Americans agree with Ms. Hammer, that our country is distressed because of this war. In addition, the way "WE" do things in America is to allow free speech and peaceful protest. No matter how one feels about the war, being American means believing in the ideals she is expressing. Ms. Hammer is practicing one of the greatest rights of being an American.

Wow, as if we needed more evidence as to how homeowners associations allow small-minded people to exert influence and gain a sense of power.

You go, 64-year-old woman and your attorney!

That reminds me...I think we should put her HOA board on notice or make them dead to us...check out this statement from the news story (not that any of us are surprised)...

"The board of her homeowner's association is very distressed with her, saying the way the flag is being flown violates Cambridge Park's patriotic and political expression policy."

Perhaps we should create our own 'house' Patriotic and Political Expression Policy.

"Gussy" is a term of art that must come back. As is "flim-flammed". I'm adding them both to my vernacular. I whole-heartedly endorse a 'house' Patriotic and Political Expression Policy.
